Rotala Nanjenshen is a great alternative velvety green mid ground plant that doesn’t have many alternatives.  Think if it as a mini version of the popular Pogostemon errectus stem plant.   It’s a true midground for larger tanks but can act as a midground for smaller tanks.  Lush light green is a great description. M
